Receiving Farm-Direct Flowers
At FlowersUAE.ae, we pride ourselves on delivering farm-direct flowers fresh from our partner farms. Because our blooms are farm-direct, they may arrive looking a bit sleepy or thirsty after their journey, depending on the season and distance traveled. This is completely normal.
When your flowers arrive, you may notice the petals are slightly closed. With a little hydration and care, they will reach their full, radiant glory within a few hours. It is important to follow the care and preparation steps outlined below.
Floral Care Tips
It is common for flowers to arrive looking a bit sleepy or thirsty. This is perfectly normal! Proper hydration is essential for vibrant blooms. We recommend tending to your flowers immediately upon arrival, as many have just completed an international journey and are in need of water. With our care tips, you will learn to tend your flowers like a professional florist.
General Flower Care
Step 1: Receive
Prepare a clean vase with at least 4 inches of fresh, cool water. If you have flower food, mix it in the water. Open your flowers carefully and inspect the stems.
Step 2: Process
Remove any foliage below the waterline. Using sharp scissors, cut the stems diagonally about one inch from the bottom. Immediately place the cut stems in the prepared water.
Step 3: Maintain
Allow your flowers at least 4 to 12 hours to hydrate fully. Change the water every 24 to 48 hours and re-cut the stems slightly each time to keep them drinking well.
Storing Your Flowers
It is best for your flowers to completely hydrate in a clean container to help them bloom. Keep your flowers in a cool, air-conditioned room away from direct sunlight and excessive heat to encourage a longer bloom life.
Additionally, keep your flowers away from fruits, vegetables, and other plants that emit ethylene gas, as this can lead to premature wilting.
